We just got a new puppy or maybe he found us. Anyway, he was on the road that we live on and was chasing a car. Then he ran out in front of us (me and Krista) and I had to skid to a stop to keep from hitting him. We passed on by him….I wasn’t ready for a new dog. Krista’s dog, Brownie, that we had for 13 years had died in October 2007 and our other dog, Buddy, had died in March 2008. So I didn’t want a dog but the thought of that little dog getting hurt there on our road….well I just couldn’t stand the thought. We turned around and went back and got the puppy. And now Krista has a new puppy named Duke. He looks like he might be part Beagle and Basset Hound, but he is a cutie. He’s got long floppy ears and he’s white with different shades of brown spots.
We think that someone didn’t want him and put him out on the side of the road. Which I just don’t understand how somebody could do that. We stopped at some of the houses where we found Duke and asked if he was their dog but he wasn’t. And I told Krista that if we saw a “lost dog” sign, we would have to return him. But we never did. That left us with the conclusion that someone just put him out on the side of the road. I mean, if you don’t want a littler of unwanted puppies (to put out on the side of the road), you should have your pets spayed of neutered.
But thanks to someone “dropping” Duke of, Krista now has a new puppy.

One of my online friends is tying the knot soon, so when I was chatting with her the other day, we got to talking about wedding things. She said she had been looking at some mens wedding bands, but she is not sure what her fiance would like. She really likes the titanium rings, but thinks he would like the tungsten wedding bands better. I think the two of them should go ring shopping together…that’s what Kecia and James did. Dewayne and I didn’t, as he didn’t care what the rings looked like!

A friend and I were chatting the other day, when all of a sudden she vanished. Yahoo Messenger said she had logged off. When she finally returned a few hours later, she was mad about her Internet going down. She really has some crappy Internet service. I recommended business satellite Internet, especially since she works online from home. It’s not good to go down for hours when you have deadlines to meet. Also, I told her she could offer live satellite webcasting for her employees…I think it would be easier than telephone seminars and things like that…

Today was the last day of school for Krista and Zach. I can’t believe Krista is about to be a senior! One more year of school and band for her. What’s even more unbelieveable is Zach is going to be in high school. Won’t be long until he’ll be graduating. 2 years from now, Dewayne and I will have to be worrying about him driving…Let’s just hope he doesn’t drive a car like he does a go-cart!

The funniest thing just happened…I was browsing online, when I got one of those evil popups (the advertisement wasn’t evil…the popups themselves are
). Before I closed it, I read that it was for Side X Side Parts. I had no clue what that is, so I clicked on the link. It brought up a site that sells all kind of miscellaneous parts, including Polaris Ranger RZR Parts (again, I don’t have a clue!) and on the main page was a photo of what I thought were golf carts. After I read the caption, I learned that they are actually UTV’s…Guess you learn something new every day!

While I was looking through some information about plants and gardening, I found a website that sells grow lights. The site address is accessdiscounts.us, and at first, I didn’t know what grow lights were, or how I even pulled that up from the info I was searching. After doing a little reading, I learned that grow lights are the kind of fixtures used in greenhouses and that sort of thing. While my thumb isn’t green enough to purchase these, they should like the would really work!

Speaking of the business my mom and I are talking about starting up (see previous post), one of the things I need to look into is business satellite internet. I have been told it is much faster than DSL, and more reliable too. I am not too familiar with it, so I need to sit down and research it a bit before I make a decision on what service we will need for our shop.

My daughter and I have been talking about wanting to open a consignment shop here in our town. I think it would be a neat thing. Owning your own business would be a great sense of accomplishment I am sure. If we decide to do that, we would have to gather up as much as free and cheap clothing and other used items as we could. We will be accepting everything from baby clothes to NFL apparel. We have a good bit of things between the two of us and our family, but we would need a lot more! I think somethings would sell good…maybe if we had some Atlanta Falcons NFL football jerseys, since we are in Georgia! I just wonder if a store like that would get good business around here…

Today, Dewayne and I have been married for 15 years. Seems like just yesterday that I was running around planning for our special day. Helping Kecia plan for her wedding last October really brought back memories of my own planning. It also showed me how different her and I were, as she wanted totally different things from what I did. Happy Anniversary to us!!! I hope for many, many more!

This used to be one of my daughter’s blogs but I am now taking over because I want to share my life with the world. Don’t worry…she can still be found at IamKecia.com! Anyways, I’m Donna and I’m here to tell you my story. I’m a 40 something mother of three and I work full-time in the clerical department of a carpet store.
Kecia, the former owner of The Domestic Life, is my oldest at 24. At 17, Krista is my middle child and she is in the high school band. Zach is the youngest at 14 and is the athlete of the family. Kecia is married to James, who is like a second son to me. I am married to the love of my life, Dewayne.
Now that you know the cast, welcome to my blog!
