Krista has been getting ready for college. She got her class schedule, she knows which dorm that she will be living in and she’s been talking to her roommate. The roommate has told Krista that she has a microwave and mini-fridge and asked Krista to bring a television. So either way we are going to be needing a new television. So now I’m looking at televisions. There’s so many different kinds I don’t even know where to start. Krista already has plenty of towels (they were a graduation gift) and her nanny got her a laptop (which she is already enjoying), so I guess she’s about ready. Move-in day is Aug. 19 and it will be here before I know it. I just hope I’m ready.

With Farrah Fawcett dying of cancer, it makes me think about cancer and that it’s such a horrible disease. One that we really need to find a cure for. In the area where I live, there is a lot of cases of cancer. My dad and father-in-law died from lung cancer (they were both smokers) but I’m all the time hearing of people dying from cancer. If you watch t.v. during the day, you get to see the commercials about Mesothelioma cancer and I didn’t even know what kind of cancer that was. So I did some researching. I found out that it’s a cancer associated with asbestos exposure and it can develop up to 40 years after exposure. Now that’s scary. I heard just last week that a rep from my work, her dad was just diagnosed with cancer, so I guess it got me to thinkling about it and what a terrible disease it is.

I’ve been getting ready for our vacation, we’ll be leaving in three weeks and I can’t wait! We are going to Panama City Beach and we’ve been going there for a few years now. But I really love going to the beach. For next year, I’ve been thinking about going somewhere different. I have looked at the Westgate resorts and if you go look at their website, you can check out all the locations of the resorts. There’s one in Branson, Missouri and Las Vegas. And if we decide to stay closer to home, there’s one in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. So if we decide to do something different next year, I’ll be keeping this in mind.

It’s really amazing all the places you can go, all the information you can research and all the people you can see….on the internet. It’s been a little slow today at work, so I’ve been surfing the internet. I’ve read alot about Michael Jackson and his unique life (RIP, Michael and Farrah) but I’ve also read about what my friends are doing on myspace. I’ve looked at rental property in Panama City Beach. Even though we already have our vacation booked and we leave in three weeks (I’m so ready!!). It’s still fun to look. Then you find stuff that my daughter refers to as ‘useless knowledge.’ Like I didn’t even know what HGH was. But now I know a little about it. It’s a supplement that some celebrities having reportedly been taking and have been in the news recently. The benefits of the supplement promise to reverse aging, enhance your metabolism and increase muscle mass. Wow, that’s an amazing product. You can also learn how to make your kid smarter, shop for the best deals on clothes and a great recipe for dinner tonight…all with one click. I just think that’s really amazing, don’t you????

I’m always ready to do some remodeling to the house. I’m always ready but my pocketbook may not be. So now I’m just looking and I have found this unique but great looking Danze faucet for the kitchen. It’s one of those with the pull-out sprayers and it also comes with a soap dispenser. I really like it. I would also like to replace our countertops in the kitchen too. But first I need to do some painting and then replace the flooring. Just thinking about all of this remodeling makes me tired. But I need to get started soon.

Check yourself out….nah, I’m not talking about looking in every mirror that you pass. But do you use the self check out lines or do you go through the regular lines and let a cashier check you out. It depends….if I’m at Wal-Mart, I usually check myself out but when I’m at the grocery stores and some other stores I let the cashier did the job. At some stores, the barcode scanner just doesn’t work like other stores (like Wal-Mart) and then you have diffulty getting checked out. So, sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. My sister never checks herself out, she thinks that’s what the cashiers get paid to do. So, what do you do??? What do you think????

This may be a good diet pill…..Nuphedra. After looking at a few different articles with nuphedra reviews, this might be one that I would consider. Its main ingredients is a combination of decaffeinated Green Tea and Oolong Tea. Both are known to help promote weight loss by burning fat away. It also includes Synephrine, which is derived for the same Asian fruit family as Ephedra but without the harmful side effects. Synephrine is good at fighting fat, burning calories and increasing energy. I have also read that Nuphedra also produces an euphoric feelings which is like a natural high and that scares me a little. So I’m just not too sure what path I’m going to choose for weight loss right yet.

If you are like our household and have too many trophies, what do you do with them all?? Especially after the kids are grown and don’t want to take them to their own houses. I mean, we have baseball and soft ball trophies (from all three kids), golf trophies (from the oldest, Kecia) wrestling trophies (from the youngest, Zach), and band trophies (from the middle child, Krista). That’s a lot of trophies….so what do you do with them all?? Kecia is married and has her own house now but she doesn’t want all of her trophies from her youth and I don’t want to just throw them away. And I almost forgot, we have a ton of winning plaques, too. Dewayne (the hubby) has fishing plaques (from fishing tournaments) and Zach has started getting plaques from his FFA contests. So for now I guess I’ll put them in crates and put them in the storage building. I just don’t have enough wall space and shelf space for them all. Oh, well I’m really proud of them but there’s so many.

Yep, I’m still wanting (and needing) to lose weight, but it’s so hard. And as always, I’m considering the options for help with achieving my weight loss goals. There’s surgery like the lap band but I’m too scared for that. And then there’s pills like Alli and ephedrine, but I’m a little scared of them, too. I’ve tried gyms like Curves and they helped the weight loss but then I quit going and the weight soon returned. And the same with Weight Watchers, as long as I attended the meetings I lost weight but when I quit going the weight returned. Don’t get me wrong, both of these programs are great but I find I lose interest before I lose the weight. So if I could find something that I would stay with, then maybe the weight loss would be for good.

I’m not looking for a job now but there’s a lot of people out there that is. And I’m very thankful that I have a job. But we have so many people coming in my workplace looking for a job. Then we hear on the news what the unemployment rate is and it’s very scary. So if you are looking for a job, there’s a lot of websites that can help you find jobs online. So if you are an IT guy, you could do an IT job search. And I’m considering a career change in to nursing and there’s a website that I can go to for a nursing job search when I’m really for that. I really excited (and scared) about a career change. I can’t wait!!
