Four Foods on Friday 49
Here are this week’s four questions.
#1. Turnips. Love em or leave em? Ewww, no. I would have to leave them.
#2. What’s your favorite roasted dish? My mother-in-law makes this roasted potato dish that I love. So I would have to say roasted potatoes.
#3. Salsa. What kind fo you like? It would have to be from my favorite local Mexican Restaurant…I absolutely love it!!! If I can’t have that, my mother-in-law makes a really good homemade salsa. Yum!
#4. Share directions on how to make your favorite quick meal, meaning start to finish in about 30 minutes or less. One of my favorite quick meals is grilled hamburgers. You just have to fire up the grill and while the meat is cooking, you can get the lettuce, tomatoes and onions (I have to have a sweet Vidalia onion on my burger) ready. You can serve them with chips, fries, baked beans or whatever you like with burgers.
Mmmm, that sounds good for tonight!
My mom sometimes will put one turnip in with the potatoes before she mashes them and it tastes really good, plus, you’re getting all the vitamins the turnip has to offer.

I have this habit of throwing potatoes into the pan when I roast chicken.

Ooooh, I forgot about burgers on the grill for a quick dinner. That’s the best, and I so agree about the necessity of a slice of sweet Vidalia onion on top.

Grilled burgers are the best. To make an even quicker meal, my grocery store sells various flavors of pre-formed patties that I like to get once in a while.

You and I are exactly the same on salsa. I love it from my favorite mexican restaurant and if it can’t come from there, I make it.
