Four Foods on Friday 46
Here are this week’s four questions.
#1. Egg salad or deviled eggs. How do you prepare? I mash the yolks and add some mayo, pickle relish (I prefer dill) and black pepper. If I’m making deviled eggs, I sprinkle paprika on top.
#2. French fries. Do you make homemade or frozen? I usually use frozen.
#3. Gravy. What do you use – homemade, jar, can or from a package? If we have gravy, I make it myself or my husband does (he’s the better cook).
#4. Share a recipe for a hot (temperature, not spice) dish.
Hawaiian Kielbasa
- 2 lbs. of Kielbasa
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Vinegar
- 2/3 stick margarine
- 1 can crushed pineapple
Saute onions in margarine. Slice Kielbasa and add with the rest of the ingredients to the skillet. Simmer for about an hour.
This recipe is from a lady at church and she is a GREAT cook. Enjoy!
I love kielbasa and I would love to try this recipe. It sounds so good!

We have similar deviled eggs it looks like! I rarely make them, only because I will eat all of them!

My husband does almost all the cooking. There are only a handful of things I do better, namely scrambled eggs, pie crusts, and panning out of pizza dough. I love being cooked for

Lol – the pizza giants of the world have convinced everyone that adding pineapple will make any dish Hawaiian. Um, no! Lot of great local recipes use Portuguese sausage (not Polish) but I’ve never seen one with sausage & pineapple. Not saying it isn’t a good recipe, just that it’s named wrong, ya know?

Can’t have deviled eggs without a sprinkling of paprika!
