Flooring for Homes with Pets

We used to have a dog that stayed in our house and thank goodness we have laminate flooring. Laminate flooring resists scratches from little puppy paws (or cat paws) and laminate doesn’t dent like hardwood flooring. Hardwood flooring can get dents from the weight of furniture and kid’s toys (another leading cause of scratches). Laminate flooring is easily maintained and usually comes with a wear, fading and stain warranty. The best thing about laminate against hardwood flooring is that it is cheaper.

My daughter and her husband have a new puppy and he stays in the house. They have plush carpet and I recommended that when they replace their carpet that they should go with a berber carpet. Berber carpet is very durable and longer lasting for pets and high traffic areas. For homes with pets, I would definitely go with either berber carpet or laminate flooring to last and look good for years.

So I explained to my daughter that the life of her carpet and flooring can be affected by dust, dirt and PETS. So when she is ready for new flooring, check out Empire Carpet Stories at Empire Today for the best carpet and flooring selections and service with in-home flooring sales and next day installation.

I can’t wait to see her new flooring!

  1. I agree, laminate is fantastic and there are so many styles to choose from. We had it in our previous house and I loved it.

  2. We are thinking off going with hardwood or something like that…as long as we can get a good deal *hint hint* :D
