While I was looking at different sites for Christmas presents, I found a website that has some really cute bridesmaid gift ideas. The website says bridesmaids’ gifts, but I am thinking they could be gifts for any occasion. One of favorites is a personalized flip flop tote bag (I love wearing flip flops!!). And of course, I really like the ‘Nana’ latte mug. So this might be a website for some of my Christmas shopping!

This is a really neat idea for the new mom that is nursing. It’s an adjustable stool for nursing. Is that not the coolest thing?? I have a niece that is a new nursing mom that I am going to recommend this to. I might just buy it for her as a surprise because I really think it would help make the nursing experience better. And on this website there is even a medical step stool for the elderly. That’s a great idea too!!

My grandson is now eight months old, but I wished I had got him a video baby monitor. His Great-Gran (aka my mom) got him the regular monitors and they work great, but it would have been cool for him to have had the video monitors. The Motorola brand offers one that has a 2.4 inch monitor (in my opinion that’s a little small….but that’s coming from an old nana that don’t see so good) with night vision for low light times, such as nighttime. I think I am going to invest in these monitors for when (somewhere down the road) that I become a nana again.

I really want one of those personal sweat shirt gift for Mother’s Day (this is just a hint if any of my kids read my blog). I have been wanting one of the sweat shirts that says “This Nana belongs to Sawyer” with a cute little head drawing of a baby boy. I just think they are so cute, and that’s about the only way to get something with Nana written on it. Of course, I would like a t-shirt like this too, since warmer weather will be here soon. But I definitely want the sweat shirt. Hint, Hint, Kecia!!

I know several expectant mothers (3 to be exact), and finding a gift for the baby shower will be rather easy since I know there is one baby girl and two baby boys. But I have been noticing that there are a lot of nice mother to be gifts, and I think that would be nice to get the mom a gift too. For her baby shower, I got my daughter a pedicure for after Sawyer was born (any reason to get to keep him….lol). But there are a lot of really cute necklaces, and I think all of these young mothers would really like them.

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve been on here and blogged about anything. But my life’s been really hectic lately. I’ve been working on our taxes and tax stuff for my husband’s company. I’ve been looking for a part-time job since my hours have been cut back at work and we (Krista and I) have been looking at colleges. So we have been busy.
And then, last Friday Kecia (my pregnant daughter) started having some problems with her pregnancy. James took her to the ER (it was after hours) and they were told that she had a urinary tract infection but everything was okay with her pregnancy. But when they went in Monday for her regular prenatal appointment (the second appt.), an ultrasound revealed that the baby had stopped growing at about 6 1/2 weeks (her first prenatal appointment, she was 6 weeks) and that she would soon be miscarrying. So this week has not been a good one. She had another doctor’s appointment today and they said that she had passed everything and won’t have to have a D & C. So that was some good news. Kecia has told me that after she has a negative pregancy test and the doctors tell them that it’s okay, they are going to try to get pregnant again.
So all in all, life’s been hectic with some really sad moments but it will get better.

With the holidays over and on my way to recovery from a severe sinus infection, I am back to my blogging. And I have some GREAT news!! I am going to be a Nana for the very first time and I am sooo excited!! My daughter, Kecia (from iamkecia.com) and her husband, James are expecting their first child at the end of August. We have known that she was expecting for a few weeks now but she didn’t want announcements on our blogs or myspaces until after her first prenatal visit and that was yesterday. They did an ultrasound and everything looks great. I am really excited!! I have waited so long now to be called ‘Nana’ and now looks like the time is near. Have I already said that I am so excited. Krista is wanting it to be a little girl. Kecia and James are kinda wanting a boy (but really don’t care as long as it is healthy). And to me, well, I’m so happy to finally be a nana that I don’t really care what it is. Uncle Zach (being the typical teenaged boy that he is) is acting like he could care less….but I know better. And Grandpa Dewayne….well, he just keeps saying “Poor James.” (He joking, of course.) I’m sure that he and Zach are excited too but just show it differently than me and Krista.
Looks like 2009 is going to be a very busy year for my family. Krista (my middle daughter) will be graduating from high school in May, going to college in August and then there will be a new addition to the family at the end of August. I can’t wait!!
I will be keeping you all updated!
Signed by Nana (aka Donna)

Sheesh! Shopping for babies can become exhausting. Just thinking about all the things new parents need makes my head hurt. Plus, thinking about all the time spent walking down aisles upon aisles at various stores makes my feet hurt. I think, when the time comes for me to start shopping for a grandbaby, I will try to do the majority of my shopping online. No lines or crowds, and I wouldn’t have to worry about how I’m going to lug the heavy baby furniture home when it’s coming straight to the door!

If you are in the market for some adorable baby bedding sets, you need to check BabyBox.com . I personally like the safari set featured in yellow. The little monkeys are so cute, and yellow is a great color if you do not find out the baby’s gender before he/she is born. This website has some of the cutest crib bedding I’ve ever seen…I have so many favorite sets on there! I wouldn’t know which set to actually purchase if Kecia was to get pregnant!

If you are expecting soon (or perhaps throwing a shower for someone who is), you should really check out MamaBebe.com. They have the cutest personalized baby gifts that are also suitable for toddlers. I personally like the puzzle stool…It would make such a nice 2nd or 3rd birthday present. The site also offers a wide selection of baby shower favors at an affordable price.
